Stress is your bodies way to responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel overwhelmed or in a fight or flight state of being the body automatically rev up. By revving up the body is protecting you through this crisis. This response is a God thing. I say it’s a God thing because we are experiencing love, peace, and kindness from the Almighty even during our stressful moments. Once the stress has subsided the Almighty‘s protection will not leave us by adding patience, goodness, and faithfulness in our spirit. Let’s not forget about the feeling of joy. Joy cometh in the morning. Do you believe that these secrets are meant for you?

It has been said that when you change the way you see things, the things you see begin to change. Try it!
Have you ever been offered something that is unfamiliar? My co-worker for years would brag about how great his Louisiana Gumbo was. He talked about how his neighbors would dance in the streets and play festive music and how the children would join in with the adults in eating the delicious gumbo dinner. He described such a wonderful and enchanting evening with laughter and happiness all around. He said his recipe was passed through the family from his great grandfather’s recipe. He talked about how excited people became as the seasons began to change. Around the end of September or early October, my co-worker would come to work and say “ Good Morning everyone, it’s that time” and someone would always say “what time”, he would loudly shout out “IT’S. G U M B O time! “ We would all laugh and that always made him so happy. Then he would say “ shrimp, onions, tomatoes, crawfish, corn, and other secret ingredients” I would squint my eyes which was representing my refusal to eat what he was describing as good food.
I was a skeptic until I finally tasted his family famous gumbo. It was a dark brown soup dish. It had shrimp, sausage, onions, chicken, crawfish, corn on the cob and other secret items in it. One day he served us the stew dish so proudly and made sure all the ingredients were in everyone’s bowl. Many of us smelled it’s aroma and was ready to eat. He then said “not yet”, he went back out to his car and brought In a large well-used iron pot. We all thought Lord, what could be in that pot? A few jokes were: “a whole duck”,,,, lol, no, an “alligator from the swamp,,,,, “ lol. He set the pot down and slowly removed the old iron lid from the pot. The aroma and steam from the pot quickly filled the room. Once the lid was removed, inside the pot was the prettiest rice, we had seen. He said “part of the secret to good gumbo is how you prepare your rice, most people use too much water, my rice is always delicious, “now add some to your bowl of gumbo, get some cornbread and enjoy. As we feasted on the meal, he walked over to his desk and pulled out his CD player and played jazz, gospel, and blues songs from the all-time great entertainers. No stress, no worries, but really good spiritual bonding. Changing the way you see things can help you see things differently. I had to confess to him, the gumbo was really good. Can you think of ways to improve your initial views on something ? Have you been quick to dismiss something without giving it a chance to flourish? Try applying these secrets to your next adventure and see what becomes of it.
