I Corinthians 6:9 – “Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You don’t belong to yourself but to God.”
Congratulations , (Felicitaciones)!
We all like receiving honor, awards, promotions and distinguishable accolades. When you won the prize for completing a marathon, the lottery, biggest looser, the cake walk, the talent audition or the raffle prize winner; how did it make you feel? Were you super excited? How did you physically express that excitement? Perhaps, you jumped up and down, cried, screamed, did you take a long deep breath and slowly exhaled? All these functions are performed by the body’s response to signals from the brain.
Piensas sobre como funciona tu cuerpo?
Do you think about how your body work or functions? Many people don’t think about how the bodywork until it doesn’t function to our expectations. How are you preserving your most valuable asset; your body.? Are you taking long-term care of your body with the proper amounts of water, healthier foods, sleep, and exercise? Are you taking for granted ( underestimating the value of something) your body and keeping it in good condition? Perhaps, more gratitude ( showing appreciation for something) is needed. I would like to highly suggest and encourage that you make a conscious ( aware of one’s own existence) decision to appreciate your body and not take it for granted. Let’s think about Psalms 139:14 – “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well” New King James Version (NKJV)
A huge congratulations to you if you’re loving and living your best life by honoring your body as the temple of God. There’s always room to stretch your faith in other different directions. Estirar tu fe y Creer !
To those who are not meeting the standards of knowing that your body belongs to God and is to be cherished; I have written some exercise guidelines that I used to win a weight loss challenge 20 Easy and Quick Recipes To Lose 20 Pounds.
Going for a daily walk is a good thing if you are meeting the guidelines recommended by the American Heart Association and The World Health Organization.
How to get Started on Exercising:(Ejercicio)
- Break down your walking of 150 minutes per week to goals that are realistic for you. Perhaps it would be 30 minute walks at least five times a week.
- For those who prefer running which is more vigorous than walking, the standard is 75 minutes each week. It’s good if you can do three 25 minutes sessions per week for an ideal goal.
- There were days I mixed and matched my exercise routines, such as walking 15 minutes to the Starbucks and back. (5×30 minutes =150 min)
- Several weeks into my routine, I’d run on Tuesdays/Thursdays/ and Sundays for at least 2 – 3 miles ( 3×25 minutes = 75 vigorous min)
For those who enjoy riding your bicycle try a 30 min ride on Tuesday. Perhaps a 45 minute (moderate) swimming class on Wednesday and choose cycling, hiking, on Saturday. Do your gardening, yard work, etc, for ( 30+45+30+the gardening and yard work for an hour); your total = 165 moderate minute This is a guideline that was very effective in my weight loss goals. I pray that all will be effective for you in preserving your body and reaching your utmost expectations.
Exercise is good for your mood and making life choices and decisions. Every night I would listen to different recordings of being motivated.. Motivation is a key factor in exercising. It’s that “it factor “ that get you moving. Perhaps listening to your pastors’ sermon , T.D. Jakes. Paula White, Ellen, Oprah. Listening to your favorite music etc. whatever your “IT” is use it to get you motivated. Each morning , I would always read a quote, scripture, devotional, anything positive will do. Create the vision of what goals you have set and truly believe in them ; put in the physical exercise listed above , and watch what happens. It will be amazing, and it’s supercalifragilistic kinda amazing when others congratulate you on such a huge achievement. Do you believe you have the confidence to achieve this challenge? With God, all things are possible, if you only believe. When you awake and follow the guidelines listed above ; you are acknowledging that you want to be the best version of yourself possible and to know that God is counting on you to know that your body is His temple. The good things about this routine is * it requires no gym membership fees
- you create your schedule
- you can be almost anywhere to walk/run
Tu cuerpo pertenece a Dios.
Use this as a guideline to enhance your health , and be encouraged to create a workable self motivating solution for yourself.
